Hybrid Server Management with Azure Arc

We manage servers outside Azure with the same tools we use inside it, giving you one view of your hybrid cloud.

    • Azure Arc onboarding for supported Windows and Linux servers running outside Azure
    • Monitoring, patching, and Azure Policy applied to Arc-enabled servers, where supported
    • Defender for Cloud coverage for hybrid servers, with any per-server charges confirmed before onboarding

    Who We Work With

    • Professional Services Firms: Keeping documents, billing, and client systems patched and backed up without pulling staff off billable work.
    • Healthcare Organizations: Running monitoring and backup checks against documented privacy and retention requirements.
    • Manufacturing & Distribution Companies: Watching hybrid environments where plant and warehouse servers connect to Azure through Azure Arc.
    • Financial Services Firms: Producing monthly security and patch reports that support audit preparation.
    • Multi-Location Businesses: Applying the same monitoring, patching, and policies across every subscription and site.

    Our Process

Onboarding takes about five weeks before ongoing service begins. Your team provides technical contact, delegated
access through Azure Lighthouse, and approval of maintenance windows.

    1

    Discovery & Baseline

In weeks 1-2, we inventory your subscriptions and resources with Azure Resource Graph and review security recommendations in Defender for Cloud. We also review current spend in Microsoft Cost Management alongside Azure Advisor recommendations. Deliverable: an environment baseline report and a prioritized fix list.

    2

    Monitoring & Runbooks

In weeks 3-4, we configure Azure Monitor alerts and action groups that route alerts into our support workflow, then write runbooks for your most likely incidents. Deliverable: an alert catalogue and an escalation matrix.

    3

    Maintenance Schedule

In week 5, we set patch windows in Azure Update Manager, confirm backup jobs are running, and, where included in scope, complete a restore test for a critical workload. Deliverable: a maintenance calendar and a restore test record.

    4

    Ongoing Support & Review

From week 6, our Azure support and maintenance services move into a steady state, with 24/7 coverage for critical incidents, and we meet monthly to review incidents, patch compliance, security recommendations, and spend. Deliverable: a monthly service report.

    FAQs About Azure Managed Services

Think of it as handing the daily running of your Azure environment to an outside team under a written scope. That scope usually covers monitoring, incident response, patching, backup, security, and cost reviews. Azure’s platform services, such as Azure SQL Database, are a different thing: Microsoft operates the infrastructure underneath them, while configuration and data stay your responsibility under the shared responsibility model.

An Azure managed services provider is a Microsoft partner that operates your Azure environment under an agreement with defined scope and response targets. Many providers work through Azure Lighthouse, which gives role-based, delegated access to your subscriptions that you can remove at any time. The provider handles routine operations, and you keep ownership of the subscriptions, the data, and decisions about what runs where.

The first change most IT teams notice is fewer interruptions. Alert triage, patch windows, backup checks, and cost reviews move to a provider working from agreed runbooks, so your engineers spend more of their week on projects. Monthly reporting then shows how patch compliance, security recommendations, and spend are trending, which gives you firmer numbers for budget and risk conversations with leadership.

On a typical Azure engagement, the work includes alert triage on virtual machines and databases, operating system patching, backup monitoring, security fixes agreed with your team, and cost reviews. Where on-premises servers are connected through Azure Arc, the same monitoring and patching can extend to them. Identity or network changes can be added to the scope if you want us to run them.

The difference comes down to timing and accountability. IT services are usually project-based or billed per request: a migration, an upgrade, or a fix after something breaks. Managed services are ongoing, cover a defined scope for a recurring fee, and make the provider responsible for routine work happening on schedule, such as patch windows, alert reviews, and monthly reporting.

Our service agreements set response targets by severity, confirmed during onboarding. A production outage is worked as the top priority until service is restored, or until the cause is escalated to the party that controls it, such as Microsoft for a platform incident. Each monthly report shows how we performed against those targets. Microsoft’s own Azure SLAs cover platform availability and sit alongside ours.

Every month, you receive a service report covering incidents and response times, patch compliance, backup job status, Defender for Cloud recommendations, and spend against budget. Between reports, your team can use the Cost Management views and Azure Monitor workbooks in your own tenant to check status at any time. Additional reports for audits or board reviews can be added to your scope.

For supported servers, yes. We connect Windows and Linux servers outside Azure through Azure Arc, which brings them into Azure Monitor, Azure Update Manager, Defender for Cloud, and Azure Policy. Some of these services charge per Arc-enabled server, and we confirm that before onboarding. Physical hardware and network support stay with your current provider unless agreed otherwise.

Teams with Azure skills usually hand us the repetitive work, such as alert triage and patch windows. Your engineers keep architecture, projects, and any areas they prefer to run, with scope set per service. Both teams work from shared runbooks and escalation paths, and the management actions we take through delegated access appear in your Azure activity log.
